Mr.Suresh Gujar is a Violinist from India, based in Pune, who is known for the gayaki (cantabile) style of violin playing and is adored by his fans, especially in Maharashtra, for his unique talent of wielding thousands of songs of popular Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, Bengali, etc. film music on violin without any notation from beginning to end, complete with their interleaved music arrangements.
He has been playing the violin since age 13 integrating the two rich Indian schools of music – Hindustani and Carnatic. However, he has adopted the international tuning of G-D-A-E (Indian notes: ma, saa, pa, re ).
For over 25 years now he has been playing professionally for various recording sessions ranging from Marathi film music, background scores of Hindi films to bhajans and meditational/devotional music for esteemed organizations such as Art of Living Foundation in India, ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), etc.
He has had several outstanding gurus – Late Mr.Mohan Saraf, Late Mr.A.Barneto, Mr.Shankarrao Biniwale and Ustad Faiyyaz Hussain Khan well known in the Indian music circuit.
His forte lies in playing Carnatic tunes, Hindustani classical ragas as well as full film and album songs that have colored the Indian music scene over the past 50 years on-demand, complete with their interleaved music, without requiring any notation or sheets whatsoever.
